The best movies cannot be measured by any means since the word best is somewhat subjective. After a movie is watched by a lot of viewers, there will be some for whom the movie was best or awesome whereas for some it would be merely a movie and the rest of the viewers may mark the same movie as sub standard. In reality, the artistic performances of a movie can never be quantified in spite of a great number of lists being created for top ten movies or top 100 listed movies directory for that matter or even the list of best of the century. Moreover, the views of critics and the viewers keep changing constantly but the movies about whom neither the critics nor the viewers alter their positive judgments are the ones which can be called as the best movies.
It is not just the name that can bring any movie of 2001 to be the best, there are a number of things within a movie that when correlate in a true spirit take the movie to the peak. Rating of the movie is determined by the best performance in every forms of art like acting, direction, script, screenplay, selection of artists, sound, dubbing, editing for that matter you name a thing and it generates an effect.
The proper technique to judge a certain movie nowadays is to do a survey which is a bit time and effort taking but may grade a movie to its actual value. Mostly the movies are graded best or dumb just by the display at the box office. But, a fair and wide research brings out the real ranks. For a long time it is established that the movies found once in the top list are the one which constantly show up on the top lists as an outcome of various surveys.
Statement of best movies is not just for the points explained earlier; in fact it is determined by the trend of the time too. The movie “Night Mare on the Elm Street” or “The Predator” gave birth to a trend and the time has seen a lot of movies were published on identical lines but not all of them could achieve the level of best, only a small number of them did. Movies like How to Train Your Dragon, “date with an angel”, “God father”, “the forest Gump”, “the gladiator”, “the good the bad the ugly” or “walk like a man”, “superman”, “Spiderman” may be termed as all-time best but then again there would be so many of us who would rank these movies nowhere near the best.
There is a consensus within most movie historians, critics, and the viewers that the movies once rated best are obviously among the most critically investigated, meaningful, and must-see films of their times. They are the movies which leave endless and remarkable imprints on us. They entertain, satisfy, educate, and touch us subconsciously. Many of these best movies were created years ago and might have been neglected on first release but the time endured test proved them to be the best.
